PERSEUS responds to the demand for an integrated European system for the control of maritime borders. The aim of the project is to develop and try out a European system of maritime surveillance through the integration of the existing European and national systems, which are to be updated and improved with technological innovations.
Using two large-scale tests, PERSEUS enabled the feasibility of a European system to be demonstrated and set the standard and the basis for its definitive development. It is a project coordinated by Indra, with a consortium of 29 partners from 12 EU countries, most of which have sea borders.
